Textile Lab at New Green CityOctober 9, 2011The Textile Lab visited the New Green City event sponsored by GrowNYC Union Square. We parked next to the City Atlas crew, and made dyes with eucalyptus and cabbage from the greenmarket. We met Johanna from Herbal Garden of East NY. See her pictured below sporting her hand knitted coat and hat!

Socrates GreenmarketOctober 4, 2011 A trip to the greenmarket at Socrates Sculpture Park is a great way to spend a Saturday…nature, art and fresh local produce. We took advantage of the vegetable and flower offerings from J. Glebocki and Lucky Dog Farms. Dyes were made from sunflower, zinnia, fennel and onion skins!

We will be in the Tobacco Warehouse on Water St working on a giant collaborative felted textile! The textile is made from local, naturally dyed wool, and reclaimed textiles.
