Thank You For Crafting With Us!September 17, 2012Many thanks to every­one who helped Tex­tile Lab felt together two amaz­ing tex­tiles to give to the farm­ers at Gar­den Of Eve and Nor­wich Mead­ows Farm. The farms bartered food in exchange for hand­crafted tex­tiles at the Unsold Sup­per Event on Sat­ur­day. The feast was incred­i­ble… it was an amaz­ing end to a beau­ti­ful day at the market!

Inwood Welcomes Textile LabAugust 13, 2012The com­mu­nity at Inwood includes many peo­ple who are inter­ested in sus­tain­abil­ity and the envi­ron­ment.  Many vis­i­tors stopped by Tex­tile Lab to learn about nat­ural dyes. Textile Lab at New Green CityOctober 9, 2011The Tex­tile Lab vis­ited the New Green City event spon­sored by GrowNYC  Union Square. We parked next to the City Atlas crew, and made dyes with euca­lyp­tus and cab­bage from the green­mar­ket. We met Johanna from Herbal Gar­den of East NY. See her pic­tured below sport­ing her hand knit­ted coat and hat!

Textile Lab In BrooklynOctober 7, 2011The lab will be at two loca­tions this Sat­ur­day 10/8. We will be at the Green­point mar­ket in Mc Car­ren Park from 10am-2pm, and then we will be going to Smor­gas­burg on the Williams­burg water­front from 3–5. Come see us cre­ate nat­ural dyes, and spin! We will have yarn and prod­ucts for sale.

Socrates GreenmarketOctober 4, 2011  A trip to the green­mar­ket at Socrates Sculp­ture Park is a great way to spend a Saturday…nature, art and fresh local pro­duce. We took advan­tage of the veg­etable and flower offer­ings from J. Gle­bocki and Lucky Dog Farms. Dyes were made from sun­flower, zin­nia, fen­nel and onion skins!

We will be in the Tobacco Ware­house on Water St work­ing on a giant col­lab­o­ra­tive felted tex­tile! The tex­tile is made from local, nat­u­rally dyed wool, and reclaimed textiles.
