Smarter cities workshop at Bronx Community College

“A city faces multiple challenges related to either planning or development, degrading quality of the environment, socio-economic disintegration, urban blight, and management of resources to name a few. All of these have led to global calls for  – one which draws upon the best available technological and human resources to provide a vibrant city that offers the best sustainable environment options to its inhabitants. Every smarter city model will be influenced by its local environment, policies and demographic characteristics. Best practices and success stories need to be shared on a global platform and big data analytics may be required to get the best results for global transformations leading to smarter cities. This workshop will deal with topics ranging from sustainable development, to community engagement and analysis of big data using emerging tools of visualization, modeling and simulations such as Geospatial Technology.”
