Adopting a tree in NYC is a great way to help contribute to the greening of your community! MillionTreesNYC, an initiative of PlaNYC, has been busy working towards their goal of planting one million new trees in New York City. The initiative is connecting individuals with trees through the adopt-a-tree program. Every tree planted needs TLC from a caring individual and it’s easy to find trees that need adopting near where you live or work because of an interactive Google map that identifies trees in the most need, adopted trees and available trees. Just follow the steps in the stewardship guide to provide your tree with the best care.
70% of trees will be planted in parks or other public spaces while 30% of trees will come from organizations and homeowners. Adopt-a-tree today!
