How many paper cups, styrofoam coffee cups, coke bottles, water bottles, and plastic bottles have we used and thrown away like nothing? Too many.
It’s not just the amount of waste that we produce that we should think about, but also the material that such products are made of. Kawagishi-sensei, a Zen Buddhist monk and high school calligraphy teacher, has a cup made of clay that he has used for thirty years.
Maybe we should all start with a cup.

No se trata solamente de pensar a cerca de la cantidad de desperdicio que producimos. También es importante pensar en el material del que están hechos dichos desperdicios. Kawagishi-sensei, un monje budista y profesor de caligrafía en una escuela, conserva una taza hecha de cerámica que ha usado por treinta anos.
Tal vez todos podríamos seguir el ejemplo y asi empezar por una taza.
