3 nights, 3 cheers for trees

Trees, with their large potential to sequester carbon and cool the city (greening 5 percent of Toronto’s rooftops lowered temperatures by almost one degree Fahrenheit), are an important aspect of addressing climate change and sustainability in NYC.

According to the book The City and The Coming Climate, urban trees repay their cost almost threefold due to their ability to cut electricity expenses, increase property values, improve air quality, and sequester carbon.

Attend the Tree Talks with Parkies and Friends lecture series to learn more about how beneficial trees are to NYC and how the city plans on harnessing the power of trees to address climate change and sustainability.
