Think parks this summer. Outdoor events abound. From Shakespeare performances and French films to puppet shows and sandbox programs, there is something for all ages across all 5 boroughs.

For movie-goers, some popular series are the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival every Monday at 5 pm on Bryant Park’s lawn, Films on the Green Festival featuring French films (with English subtitles) every Friday at 8:30 pm at various NYC parks, and RiverFlicks for Grown-Ups every Wednesday at 8:30 pm at Hudson River Park pier 63.

For music lovers, some highlights are Summerstage, sponsored by the City Parks Foundation, featuring a range of artists from pop to world music, the Metropolitan Opera’s Summer Recital Series, and Hudson River Park’s Sunset on the Hudson, every Friday at 7pm.

For theater junkies, there is Broadway in Bryant Park, every Thursday 12:30-1:30 pm on the lawn starting July 12th. Anyone looking for Shakespeare performances can find a plethora, such as Shakespeare in the Park, or for the more adventurous, Shakespeare in the Park(ing) Lot as well as many more.
