Summer in NYC is nothing without trips to the beach. Memorial Day weekend marks the official start of beach season in New York City. Beaches across the city opened today. If you didn’t make it, there is better weather ahead anyway! Sunday and Monday will both be sunny with temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s.
The NYC Parks Department maintains 14 miles of beaches, all of which are open until Labor Day. During beach season, lifeguards are on duty daily, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Swimming is technically prohibited outside of those hours. Feeling excited but don’t know which beach to go to? Take a quiz designed by NYC Parks and find out which one suits you!
