Bushwick Compost Workday

November 12, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Join New York Restoration Project as we continue building a compost windrow in our storage facility. Learn about compost as we add food scraps, from our local partners at BedStuy Fresh and Local and Saraghina Restaurant, and garden clippings from our many gardens throughout Brooklyn and Queens.

We will also spend time painting a mural on posts in front of the garden and weeding.

Come dressed to work in closed toe shoes!

Tools, gloves and water will be provided, as per usual. Lunch will also be provided at this event.

Trains:

Take the J, Z, A or C trains to Broadway Junction.

Walk north to Broadway and make a left, walking toward Stewart Street. Four blocks down make a right onto Aberdeen Street and follow the street to the end. The garden is on the left side at the very end of this dead end street.

Take the L train to Bushwick Ave-Aberdeen St.

Walk down Bushwick toward Aberdeen Street. Make a right onto Aberdeen Street and follow the street to the end. The garden is on the left side at the very end of this dead end street.
