Gowanus Canal Bat Walk

Enjoy a night stroll along the banks of the Gowanus with Gabriel Willow, and the Gowanus Canal Conservancy. Gabriel will teach you how to use a echolocation-listening device to find and identify bats! There will also be a nightcap to discuss your exploration and findings!

Gabriel is a naturalist and urban environmental educator. At NYC Audubon and Wave Hill, he teaches classes and leads tours. Previously, he was the Senior Naturalist at the Prospect Park Audubon Center.

This bat walk event is part of the Gowanus Watershed urban ecology lecture series. The series aims at raising awareness of local ecological issues and community environmental consciousness.

Lecture at 7:00 p.m., followed by Bat Tour at sunset and Q&A.  Nightcap at 9:00 p.m.
