As evidence of the negative impact of the cars continues to mount, people are looking to the bicycle as the solution. Worldwide, activists are encouraging the use of bicycles to counteract the over-consumption of oil and the everlasting effects of climate change, and are pushing forward a new system; one that will empower cyclists and encourage the use of bicycles as a viable and safe mode of transport. But with poor city planning and road rage contributing to daily cycling casualties, and never-ending gridlocks and global warming at the forefront of the news, what will it take for change to occur? And will the economic powers-that-be allow it?
