Jamaica Bay Park Tree Planting

Volunteer with the Stewardship Team to plant trees in the forest in Jamaica Bay Park! Trees provide so many benefits to New Yorkers such as improved air and water quality, reduced pollution, and lower energy costs. Volunteers will be trained in proper planting techniques. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty. Please bring your own water bottle for this event. Space is limited and registration is required for this event.

Wine Bottle Hydroponics

In two hours, we will transform egg cartons, old cotton clothing, and glass bottles into beautiful hydroponic planters. Want a little green in your life but have a troublesome black thumb? This growing and upcycling workshop is for you!

Hurricane Sandy anniversary planting in the Rockaways

For the two year anniversary of Storm Sandy, Rockaway Waterfront Alliance (RWA) is bringing people of all ages together to create a nature protective buffer for the Rockaway community.

Families and people of all ages are welcome to participate in this dune restoration planting & biomimicry project. Students can receive community service hours. No registration is required. This event is rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
