Bed-Stuy Farm Open House

FreeNow that the days are getting warmer and longer, planting is officially underway at the Bed-Stuy Farm (part of the Brooklyn Rescue Mission Urban Harvest Center). Come out and enjoy a few leisurely moments in the urban grow space on Saturday, May 25th from 2-6 pm. Check out the neighborhood celebrity chickens, “Worm Alley” vermi-composting system, demo aquaponics and hydroponics systems, greenhouse & hoophouse, shade garden, vegetable and flower gardens, and other surprises!
There will be light refreshments (including some items grown onsite), an ongoing cooking demo/food tasting, storytelling, and recipe exchange – bring your favorite veggie recipe!
The event is free with a sliding scale suggested donation.
The farm is located at 404 Decatur St. The closest subway stop is at Utica Ave. on the A line.
