Disruptive Energy Futures
November 2, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeFeaturing Distinguished Guest Speaker Physicist Amory Lovins, consultant to business and government leaders, is co-founder and Chief Scientist of Rocky Mountain Institute. The RMI Headquarters building’s energy- and water-saving features are among the most advanced in the world: almost all the space- and water-heating energy it uses is solar, it uses about a tenth the usual amount of household electricity (mostly solar-generated), and it uses less than half the normal amount of water. Although it was designed as a comfortable home and office, most of the technologies and design principles responsible for the building’s performance can also be cost-effectively applied to smaller, simpler, and cheaper buildings, allowing for differences of climate and lifestyle.
