The Landfill is a peek into the operations of a small New York landfill that turns trash into energy. The power plant at the landfill harnesses the gas created from organic waste and converts it to energy. The on-site power plant produces around 4,000,000 KWH per year, enough energy to power 300-400 local homes annually.
The film is by Jessica Edwards, director of Seltzer Works and Gary Hustwit, the producer of Helvetica, Objectified and Urbanized.
