The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), the Earth Institute’s Center for Environmental Sustainability (EICES) and the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) issued a challenge to six thought leaders on climate to foster new thinking for lasting change. This challenge is a timely one, as it comes when regulators, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and members of civil society are calling for informed assessments and discussion of the state of forests, climate and society. Leaders in the field will present their responses in a special high-level scientific discussion titled Colloquium on Forests and Climate: New Thinking for Transformational Change.”
