Jane’s Walk: the future sea level in lower Manhattan

May 7, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

JanesWalkCity Atlas is happy to join with Citizen’s Climate Lobby to lead a Jane’s Walk that will explore the effect of sea level rise in lower Manhattan.

Jane’s Walks are held in honor of Jane Jacobs, the famed urbanist, and are a program hosted in New York by the Municipal Art Society.

Leading this walk will be Richard Reiss, editor of City Atlas, Nicole Crescimanno of the Climate Science, Awareness and Solutions initiative at Columbia University and Phil Kahn of Citizen’s Climate Lobby, and Alison Engel of New York Hall of Science, developers of the CUSP Map project about the future of the city.

Joining us will be Marlyn Marrero of School of Visual Arts, developing a project about residents of Miami confronting sea level rise, and Adam Glenn, editor of AdaptNY and of the Reporter’s Guide to Adaptation, a sourcebook for journalists that cover climate impact stories.
