Kids Food Festival

FreeThe Kids Food Festival includes hands-on cooking classes, food demonstrations, live entertainment, food sampling, giveaways, and a Balanced Plate Scavenger Hunt for kids. All the activities and demonstrations are geared towards instilling in children the benefits of healthful, balanced eating habits and avoiding childhood obesity. General admission is free and the event is open to everyone.The conclusion of the 2015-2016 season at Bank of America Winter Village is fast approaching, and Manhattan’s only free-admission ice skating rink will close out the season on a healthy note by hosting the 2016 Kids Food Festival. Presented in partnership with The Creative Kitchen, the James Beard Foundation, Upsilon Ventures,Bank of America Winter Village, and the Whole Kids Foundation,the Kids Food Festival aims to educate families about making balanced food choices through fun and flavorful activities.
The event will take place over two days, Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6, with activities from 10am–4pm on both days centered around two main venues. The Kids Food Festival Main Stage on the park’s Upper Terrace will host live entertainment including musical performances and cooking demonstrations. The program includes appearances by Snoopy from The Peanuts Movie, Yummiloo, Karma Kids Yoga, and Dirty Sock Funtime Band.
At the James Beard Future Foodies Pavilion, located on the second floor of Celsius, celebrity chefs will offer hands-on cooking classes for those who purchase tickets. For a list of chefs and entertainers at both venues, click here. To purchase tickets for the cooking classes, click here.
This will be the fifth year in a row that Bryant Park is hosting this fun and valuable event, and we can’t think of a better way to close out another successful season of Bank of America Winter Village. We invite all parents to bring their kids to the park, take one last spin at The Rink, and learn about healthful food and lifestyle choices.
