The Earth Institute’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) Spring Public Lectures presents, “Ocean acidification and climate change,” with  Brbel Hnisch, Associate Professor, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.

Humans are changing global climate at a pace unprecedented in Earths history, but past climate trends can help us to understand where our current climate is headed. While we cannot make direct measurements of past atmosphere, we can use marine records preserved in the ancient plankton found on the sea floor. Lamont-Doherty scientists have been gathering ancient sea cores for over 50 years, producing a story of climate change and its affects. Professor Brbel Hnisch will discuss how we can use geological records to fine-tune our predictions for future global climate change. Register here.
