LUNCHTIME LEARNING: Clean Waterways=Healthy Community

Join the Human Impacts Institute in the third of the 2013 North Brooklyn Estuary Exploration Series and have lunch, while learning about water quality in our City! Participants will learn about the effects of drinking water and estuary water quality on our community. This topic will be explored on the East River State Park beach overlooking midtown Manhattan and will explore our on-land actions to water pollution and conservation.Participants will also explore water quality through basic water quality testing of East River and NYC Drinking water. A vegetarian lunch will be provided for all participants to picnic by the shores of the East River with the best view in town! Kids are welcome with adult supervision! Register for this free workshop today! (Participation limit 30) Location: East River State Park, 90 Kent Ave Brooklyn, NY 11211. L Train to Bedford Avenue. Participants in at least 4 out of 5 of the 2013 North Brooklyn Estuary Exploration Series will receive a professional certificate in Water Stewardship from the Human Impacts Institute.
