Scored for the so-called ‘virtuoso band’ (NYC Jazz Record), the Eco-Music Big Band, this work is a unique cross-genre work: uniting free-jazz big band writing, operatic singing, and vocal/instrumental improvisation allows for a free-wheeling performance that proves to be exciting and engaging. The Eco-Music Big Band is a 16-piece, multigenerational and unique big band that includes some of the nation’s most acclaimed jazz musicians (such as bass trombonist David Taylor, drummer Zack O’Farrill, and trumpeter Adam O’Farrill).
