Volunteer with GrowNYC’s Office of Recycling Outreach and Education to promote organics diversion for composting in New York City. Every Saturday, food scraps are collected from neighborhood residents at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, Fort Green Park,  as well as McCarren Park, and then transported to a local compost site for processing. Volunteers are needed to help participants navigate the drop off and to answer questions from the public. No experience or training necessary, just bring a positive attitude and enthusiasm for waste diversion and recycling.
