Religious communities everywhere are living out their call to protect Creation by organizing to divest their endowments and pension funds from fossil fuel holdings, and reinvesting in a clean energy future. This group welcomes members of all faith traditions who want to learn more about how their congregations can mitigate the worst effects of climate change with a well-organized divestment and reinvestment strategy.

The June meetup was a great success, with the best attendance of any yet!

We agreed that there would be two “asks” of group members for July:

1. Review the materials available online for GreenFaith’s Divest & Reinvest Now! campaign:http://greenfaith.org/programs/divest-and-reinvest

2. Work on a divest & reinvest “elevator pitch,” i.e., your 2-3 minute verbal summary of why someone (from your own congregation, for example) should support a divestment & reinvestment effort. We will try out our elevator pitches on each other!
