The side event will address the priority theme of CSW 60: ‘Women’s empowerment and its link to sustainable development’ as well as the review theme ‘The elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls’ from the agreed conclusions from the 57th session. It will also be considered as part of the discussion on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the process towards the Third United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) which will take place 2016 in Quito, Ecuador.
