Teddy Bears for Teddy Roosevelt

February 15, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Free

Did you know that “teddy bears” got their name from Teddy Roosevelt, who famously refused to kill a bear on a hunting trip? To celebrate Presidents’ Day, come learn about President Roosevelt’s impact on New York City as Police Commissioner in 1895 and discover his friendship with social reformer Jacob Riis through the exhibition Jacob A. Riis: Revealing New York’s Other Half. Then make your own teddy bear!

Family Programs are geared to families with children ages 6-12 years old, and include a free snack.
