Volunteering at The Epic Ride is a great experience, with camaraderie, goodwill and loads of fun! Volunteers and bike marshals play an integral role in creating an unforgettable experience for participants of The Epic Ride.
On July 23, participants in the Epic Ride will ride from Greenpoint, Brooklyn to Rockaway, Queens along the Brooklyn Greenway and Jamaica Bay Greenway bike paths. NPCA is teaming up with the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, Nature Valley and Riis Park Beach Bazaar to bring the Epic Ride finish line to “the people’s beach” at Jacob Riis Park, Jamaica Bay. Once at Riis, bikers and beach goers alike can enjoy local food and drinks, live music and a well-deserved dip into the Atlantic Ocean.
Saturday, July 23rd at Jacob Riis Park, Gateway National Recreation Area.

Number of volunteers needed: 100, small and large groups, individuals and families welcome!
Event Day Volunteers can select from the following roles:
Finish Line/After Party at Riis Beach: Roles include set up, cheering participants on at the finish line, managing the bike valet, information table, merchandise tent, collect food and drink tickets, and pack down.
Roving Advocate: at Beach 116th St. and Broad Channel subway stops, volunteers will set up an NPCA information table, greet visitors, share information about Gateway National Recreation Area and the Jamaica Bay Greenway and recruit new Jamaica Bay Advocates.
All volunteers are encouraged to promote the event by taking on-site photos and uploading them to your social media pages – don’t forget to tag @NPCA @BKGreenway and #FindYourVoice #EpicRide
Volunteer Benefits
Volunteer T-Shirt: Every volunteer receives an official NPCA Find Your Voice t-shirt. Please pick your t-shirt size when registering as a volunteer.
Volunteer Training: All volunteers are required to attend a mandatory briefing session prior to the event. Details to follow. Volunteers will also receive a volunteer handbook via email that will provide all details pertaining to volunteering at event.
