Volunteer: Hunts Point Street Tree Care
June 27, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
FreeNew York City street trees. From http://actrees.org
Join Sustainable South Bronx and MillionTreesNYC to give some love to Hunts Point street trees. We will work together to cultivate and mulch tree pits and then plant some of our first flowers of the season. One healthy tree can withhold as much as 4,000 gallons of water annually. With our combined sewer systems overflowing at less than one inch of rainfall, it’s more important than ever to make sure each tree is as healthy as can be.
Registration is required. If you’re interested, please RSVP to CWyse@SSBx.org or creynoso@nyrp.org. Individuals and groups are welcome. The meeting location is 1231 Lafayette Avenue, outside of the Banknote building.
