World Science Festival 2014
May 30, 2014
The 2014 World Science Festival is an exploration of space, art, weather, the brain, the future, and more. There are many free, open events that align with the broader mission of the World Science Festival: to get kids, and adults, excited about science. Highlights include The Ultimate Science Street Fair on Sunday with hands-on experiences created in partnership with NASA, the Liberty Science Center, and NOAA. You can visit Brooklyn Bridge Park to see a replica of the comet “Churyumov-Gerasimenko” upon which a spacecraft will attempt the first-ever comet landing in November. Each day from 1:00-3:00 pm in Gould Plaza at NYU you can attend the presentation, Eye of the Storm: The Science of Weather, to witness dramatic storms and meet the scientists who study our climate. Come to Science, Space, and Astronomy Night at The Intrepid Museum on Thursday to see a special screening of Gravity, talk with astronauts, stargaze, and search for exoplanets.
