Get Ready to Make a Difference!
On November 14th, join Transportation Alternatives and activists from organizations across New York City to hone your skills, meet a great group of visionaries and get hands-on practice in building local power and effecting change … in the fields of food justice, education, housing and any other issue that affects New York City.

WHAT: Your City, Your Voice: Activist Training

WHEN: Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 11 am to 6 pm, including an hour break.  Lunch will be provided.

WHERE: Transportation Alternatives Office, 111 John Street, Suite 260 (Manhattan)

What you’ll learn:

• How to identify changes you want to see in your community
• How to build a coalition with civic groups, local businesses and community organizations
• How to leverage resources, find allies and apply pressure to decision makers
• How to develop a strategy that will win your campaign and make change in your  community

This activist training kicks off TransAlt’s 2015-2016 Your City, Your Voice Activist Event series, which will include community board join-ups in January 2016, walking and biking tours of safe streets projects in March 2016 and another activist training in the spring of 2016.
