Architect Francis Kéré will be presenting a lecture Feb 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cooper Union entitled “Bridging the Gap.” Kéré is known for his philosophy of “self-building” where he works with communities to build environmentally conscious buildings at low cost, using local materials, an approach that not only reaps economic rewards, but also fosters a greater sense of purpose and accomplishment within the community.
The lecture is sponsored by the Architectural League of NY and is free for League members, $15 for non-members. Click here for more information and to RSVP.
