Famous for canoeing out to meet one of the two recent East River dolphins, the North Brooklyn Boat Club is getting ready for the late spring boating season, during which they help get New Yorkers of all different backgrounds out on the water.

“North Brooklyn Boat Club is dedicated to enabling and advocating for human-powered boating on and environmental restoration of the waterways around Greenpoint and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We are a volunteer-run community organization and invite anyone with an interest in boating, open space, environmental education, and nautical recreation to join our public events and open meetings.”

The club is holding their spring meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Brooklyn Rod and Gun Club at 59 Kent Ave. More details about events can be found on the club’s website.
