So fresh and so green

GrowNYC has been working, with the help of the consumer (you!) to make NYC a more sustainable city for the environment, as well as homo sapiens! As the NYT’s Opinionator recently reported, sustainability is about respect for all living things and systems which includes the 20 million New Yorkers struggling to create a sustainable way of life. That is why GrowNYC’s initiatives to bring fresh food at an affordable price to all areas of NYC is truly exciting work.

Fresh produce at bodegas in Central Harlem and Bed-Stuy is just one of the new initiatives of GrowNYC.

For fresh produce at wholesale prices in Northern Manhattan check out these locations, made possible through the organizaiton and initiative of YUM Fresh Food Group.

Additionally, through “Health Bucks” for every $5 of EBT you spend on fresh food and produce you get a $2 voucher for more!

EBT sales now make up 50% of Greenmarket income. To join, visit any one of these Greenmarkets that accept EBT:
