A Saturday at MoMA PS1 in the summer is not your average visit to a museum. Sure, the museum is open, but once you walk in, you may be distracted by the thumping DJ mix coming from the back of the building. Welcome to Warm Up, MoMA PS1’s annual summer rave. Featuring this year’s Young Architecture Award winner HWKN’s installation Wendy as the centerpiece, Warm Up attracts a diverse crowd of people who come to enjoy Wendy, the DJ’s, the dancing and the beer. We talked to visitors who came from all over the world to enjoy this event:
Jiussana and Fiona: Mother and daughter, recently moved to New York City, enjoying Wendy and the Music.
Jasmine: Lives in New York City, this is her second time visiting Warm Up this year.
Minh: From France, a lover of contemporary art, he came to check out the party and the museum.
A vibrant crowd enjoyed the sun, the beer, and the forward-thinking architecture, including set design by Fort Makers. Warm Up continues at PS1 through upcoming Saturdays August 25, September 1, and September 8.
